I started my education in management,
Allowed many skills inside to ferment.
Vary naïve the world of corporate,
I began my journey to make my fate.


As I moved gulping many lectures,
Giving presentations in vivid gestures.
Fighting with my caliber to make CGPA fine,
I tortured many nights my only spine.

Oh! those days were great,
Working in groups and finishing so late.
Missing deadlines and whiling away time,
Chatting gossiping, movies six to nine.
Fun in heart and smiles on face,
I went on and on in this new race.

Exam fever became a charm now,
One more quiz was one bigger HOW!!!
Trimesters passed on. I didn’t realize so fast,
Placement time ahead, no thinking now of past.
But how will I study leaving all that joy behind,
No interest in books now first is job to find.
Recession made my end step gloomy,
Was this the gift god kept in end for me?


No, never! I will not lose hope,
I have learnt now how to cope,
With negative emotions and scene so bad,
I will survive by being positive and glad.
So my message to all friends of mine,
The days will soon gain their shine.
Be optimistic and we all will rise,
Sooner or later… that’s the word of a wise.

Who I am What I am not,
What I can do what I can not,
to find all this I analyzed myself,
praised and criticized myself,
observed behaviors in different situations,
then made a through generalization.

to find the real me in me,
I set my inner voice totally free.
I did related my temperament,
measured temperature of brain filament,.

My thoughts, my emotions,
my perception,my relations,
all were now getting clear,
Whom I hate, who is my dear.

I now realized my duplicity,
but I am prepared for multiplicity.
I m not good ,I am not bad,
I am not happy, I am not sad,
I am not correct, I am not mistaken,
Its the only sense in which life is taken.

What I speak isn't always true,
not every time I show my native hue.
What I feel, what I want,
What I am what I am not.

A ray of hope, a mist of shine,
I sometimes see a silver line,
amidst the dark clouds in sky,
I find myself somewhere very high,

forbidden and forlorned.

But I am sure for very sure,

from heart, from brain,
when I will drain,
all my negatives, all my infirmities,

A gift of god, to every odd,

I came to know my imperfection,

Developing countries and developed famlilies or developed countries and developing families??????

Developing countries or mostly said third world countries like Brazil, Pakistan,India and list goes on......on the other hand Developed countries like America which are at the verge of becoming world power. true , everyone agree on the fact and the growth at these tow types of countries, but are they really what they are called as?

India is called as developing country but the population of developed families in terms of status, living standard, education, income and rest criterion often taken in notice by economists, are growing in number every time line. population is growing to be more on above average living standard and even best of intellectual and technological world at India has given a boost to the families and life style. with the increasing level of awareness and education ..although slowly India is giving birth to developed families. Now the 60% population earlier engaged in agri sector is moving towards service sector...though not too much..

Similarly in developed countries..there are a whole chunk of geographic region where there are developing and even at very basic stage of living standard, families are surviving for livelihood.

Now my question to readers is that if this is being the situation..should the term be called as mix of developed n developing countries or not? no country is having all of its population fully developed..so in that sense each part of world political region is to be termed as developing one..or to be precise...moving ones towards total development.

Indian politics needs REFORM...HR HR where r u?

Mumbai CM resigns and now they are taking decision after resignation as to whom to select. has there been proper succession planning system this wont be the case.
after some bad thing happens terribly only then people wake up to say govt is not doing anything.

Inspite of being worlds largest producer of MBA's per year , INDIAN political management is worst. it needs serious reforms where politicians are kept eye on for there performance every stipulated period..not like 5 yrs or so but targets are set, goals are decided and KRA's are formed.performance management needs to set in the system. robust system of reward and recognition in sync and then accordingly compensation and benefits.

As a whole integrates talent management should be there. believe you me, every politician would better to have an MBA as assistant then the ones who are just tehre to nod on every speech.

Indian political system really needs help of HR...

collaborate to compete!!

Have alook at two news recently in top stories.
1) Kingfisher joined hands with jet Airways for cost cutting measures , in spite of being strong competitors

2) UBL and SAB having market shares of 43% and 37% in Andra Pradesh, filing a case against the government of Andhra Pradesh for not revising the procurement price of beer in more than a decade, despite a significant rise in costs and a 300-400% increase in the retail price.

These two and are two sheer examples where competitors are collaborating on two different fronts of first cost cutting and facing effects of liquidity crunch and recession and second against government monopoly.Not only these two examples are case on such school of thought but also various mergers and alliances, Joint venture and other strategic collaborations are part of such philosophy that has actually paid well to the organization.

not only for organization it is true in personal life as well. i have often observed that in education institutes, student who are competitors are also very good friends helping each other in learning and having a helping relation to complement each others weakness or rather imperfection. but then how the question of distinction comes to play. now that the question to ponder here even in case of organizations in such collaboration that one does well and other only is able to pass through. the key to this is the internal culture of organization, and aptitude and attitude of the individual. it is the behavior that distinguish you from good to best even if you have same words to speak as other shave.

So even if you are collaborating to compete remember you have something that is not with other, that is your attitude aptitude and your culture that can give you that cutting edge.
looking this into consideration, the HR of an organization has to make sure that whether its merger, alliance or acquisition; behavior, attitude and aptitude of employees and organization remains healthy. Communication is the basic key for that.

Every one salutes Rising Sunshine...even if it is fake and dishonest!!!!!

huh....one more gimmick...i am really learning alot !!!! Now in "stuti" (remeber my second last blog..) ABC( remember last blog)is again palying a idiotic trick to woo other members but now in much smarter way. ABC is now planning to do big excluding me as if it really matters to me...huh.but hey what's this..even people who were with me earlier shifted to ABC's way just coz ABC is promising them something..they even don't know if it is true. poor people,I want them to learn but at same time I dont want to ruin ABC's image being on same platform as I am. but this shift of people has given me lot of insight on how people change when they see shine on other corner even when it is to burn you. Also I thank God for bringign me light about these shifting people's nature of getting swayed away by fantasies..I really dont want to keep thinkinh for people who dont have respect for truthfullness, but dishonest and fake fame.
You know what my mom always taught me 3 basic principles of life:
1) Easy way seems always good but in long term doesn't reap much benefit.
2) Always be good coz nature's cycle pay u back for your goodness, may not necessary from same source.
3) Every one salutes rising Sun Shine...don't follow sunshine ...even Moon lightens the dark paths.

and at this moment when i realized my transition to be faster as I am now getting close to what I have learnt till now and am better position to relate things happening to me with it, I really am missing my Mom.

but there is one thing for sure.theres still a,ot to learn..its interesting too by the way..so keep reading...theres lot more to know better than soaps.

Managing people is not easy but intresting to know them....People have different motivational reasons!!!!..One more Practical Experience

Recently i had one more practical experience to relate with my Hr knowledge and I am happy to tell you that it was awesome to handle.

There is a person in my team i work in name ABC( not taking name). ABC works for one more team but works only when he is given threat to kicked off the club. also when threaten he gives it best but otherwise he only enjoys authority to impress people.
In recent experience i recall ABC was just inactive for full one year and got active for one of the team he works with on account of being asked to quit if not performing and then he did only what was needed. In other instance, when ABC realized that power is loosing as other member are doing well and people are acknowledging doers , not sleepers, got active and tried to centralize system making self as core of team. Now This being the situation how can the people working for so long let this ABC to do so..
Now here power game began and ABC played a stupid gimmick by changing the password to sole property to my team. But every one in team has a basic right to own it ..so first i tried to talk to him multiple times but no results. Finally i did what which I never wanted to and went to authority. with due intervention of authority only I could solve the issue to an extent. Lets hope its goes well now...It's only one day situation being controlled.

HUH!!!! these people who can be only controlled with threat are actually difficult to manage with soft skills....This was my first practical experience with hard brain people but i love handling such hard situation and expect to handle even harder ones..this ultimately helps me in my transition .....

Practically seen first time ..How HR can turaround things!!!

I am involved in a committee at my college (not taking name...lets say "Stuti") In stuti we are 3 members ...2 from different Course and only me from HR. Now I was the only person who was handling full responsibility from maintaining records to organizing events at college and making college proud of "stuti" .But as we passed one year and became seniors suddenly out of blue those inactive members got out of sleep and started working to impress juniors and make their space. they were really helpless coz they never took interest in stuti and its activities and so being initiative taker..I did all, with no complaints coz I joined stuti out of passion..not out of position while for those two members it was just enjoying position.

Now was the time to recruit people from junior batch for part of "stuti" . I being friendly and helping them to adjust to stuti and its activities helped them to conduct all but they thought HR is not required and went as per their guidelines...Now here being on same platform..I cant act as manager and treat them as subordinates to comply to me..but I tried to handle situation in all possible way and now the situation is the juniors are fed up working with those two members and 50% has moved out. they are left with only one person with them and now I have my separate team as HR stuti including me and 2 from juniors. But as a team leader , I never wanted it to happen. so I tried again to unite the team by making HR juniors involved with other other sub team...and for it I was ready to move out. But again ...I cant as being a part of pioneer of stuti .
You know what actually went wrong there..
They did not agree on having defined roles and responsibilities..that was first biggest mistake to undermine HR value..and it led to chaos and overlapping and so confusion in whole system.
second, they never agreed to be fair and impartial to juniors . lack of fairness and transparency caused fear in juniors and hey moved out.
third, juniors were not treated as contributors but just subordinates..that caused dissatisfaction for work they did..no reward and recognition for them was there.
Fourthly..the documentation was not there to keep record and track of activites, leading to utter miss management

Ultimately..dying stage of stuti..but i hope that the intervention I am going to use will definitely be successful to make it happen again all well.
wait for the results...Till the just one lesson..HR IS THE SOUL OF SUCCESS FOR EVERY TEAM>>>HOW MUCH IT MAY BE HUGE , HOW MUCH IT MAY BE SMALL.

Arena...August 2008

At IMI every month i have uncertainty about the issue I as a part of team Arena handles. Arena is a monthly e- magazine that is handled by a team of 6 people at IMI that talk about the management stuff, news at campus , events, etc.

This time we had theme to flaunt students activities like Tantra Mantra in HR Summit at college, or Prahelika- Finance Summit. Also we had couple of good articles from people in our team including me and this time two of my articles got published...wud u believe. one in collaboration with two other colleagues at IMI and one solely mine. HuH...I feel great . You know its also been rolled out to various corporate houses and other B-Schools.

This time also we were successful. However i feel there still room to improve a lot...and so Journey is going great..Arena Rocks!!!!

New Year has come. Every body must be thinking of doing something new. Isn’t it? From working hard and Getting most handsome job package to maintaining discipline in life in one or the other domain. We often think about the big changes we want to have in our lives to have a fruitful impact. But in creating those big changes we actually end up in doing nothing because its human nature to resist change. Also we all know that small changes do make big impacts but in urge to move fast we tend to follow shortcuts. Now here I wish to let you focus on some small changes that are exemplary and have successfully been magical in creating a huge impact.
Lets look at the very basic change we all make at our home; we place a small plant in our room to accentuate the interiors. Just one plant can makes our room so living! Take another instance where we praise some child’s creativity and that motivates him to do things in bettor way. He actually looks for that sweet pat again and again and thus performs bettor and much bettor. So here you can clearly observe that what I want to convey is small changes like this if done with a broader sense of social perspective ,can really create a big impact on nations growth and ultimately to individuals growth. If each of us can plant just one plant per month, leading to at least 1 billion new plants every month, think how clean and green nation it would be. If each of us learn to respect others effort, there would be no riots and differences among people and the world would be at peace. Such thing actually looks hard but if practiced with the earnest effort could lead to practicality of these thoughts.
Let’s look at one more initiative, a very interesting and thought provoking stance taken by Times Of India, the lead India, which is trying to figure out the new and emerging leaders in hope that these leaders would be having the ability to empower India with the kind of political leadership that is conspicuous by its absence. This kind of small effort can actually give our nation an individual who could be the dream leader in the current scenario .this initiative is actually driving each individual of the nation to think that if the nominated people for this initiative could be among themselves only, they too have the ability to exercise their leadership skills, they too have the power to actually do something for their nation without much effort. Because after all small efforts gives big results.
So what we are waiting for. Lets join our hands and on this new year , lets start creating small changes in ourselves and in our surroundings to have a bettor life and altogether a new nation.

Women entrepreneur- Rising sun of the era!!!

In this rat racing world of today, women are getting empowered as fast as a change in a fad. The silos of the work field are breaking by the women heading every where in the so called men dominant world of some day. Now it is the era of new women who is proving her mettle in all fields, diluting the water tight compartments of the areas of professionalism being men or women oriented.

There was a time when women were perceived as only home makers but with the changing trends and our movement towards 21st century it is becoming crystal clear that they can be fortune makers for an organization too. Recent findings have shown that the number of firms owned by women has grown twice the rate of any other firms in the past ten years. Marjorie Alfus, chairperson for Women's Business Research also said, "Women business owners are significant players in the nation's economy and their momentum shows no signs of slowing down".
More women are becoming entrepreneurs because they see the attractiveness that a home-based business has to offer them in terms of freedom and flexible working hours. No longer having to work hours dictated to them, women entrepreneurs have more time to spend with their families and to bring up their children. They enjoy more varied and meaningful tasks in their business, without the limitations and stresses associated with the glass ceiling corporate world.
Are women leaders in demand?
Business is Business! That’s what they say! But is there any particular way a business has to be done? Partly yes and partly No. Because if there isn’t any particular way we wouldn’t have learnt and tried to master it. But Partly No because continuous change in technology and vast amount of information is making it much more challenging and demands some thing new every time. Add to it the global Competition, Business is never the same. As some body told “U never cross the same river more than once”. Always there are new waters in the rivers so the new challenges and new people every time.
So evolving is the new concept of knowledge worker, And the problems of attrition has shifted the focus of organizations to the women as future workforce especially as knowledge workers. Obviously there are many examples where a woman has reached to the top, like Indira Nooyi CEO of Pepsi co. and many more. So organizations have started seeing women with a new hope, they are taking women of ability pairing them with men of ability to make it the best organization and a profitable one.
The truth is that successful business is led by people of experience with specific business skills and the right mindset. This is why we must develop women managers further through learning experiences, coaching and training that ensure the results a corporation needs to obtain highly skilled women leaders.
Here are some reasons why we need more women as leaders in business:
1. Women, on average, are terrific communicators and tend to be better at it than men. It’s the information age and it’s highly competitive.
2. Global business will require expanding business networks. Women are natural net workers.
3. Diverse viewpoints can result in better, more creative solutions to business issues. Both women and men are needed to address business issues effectively.
4. Keeping a talented knowledge worker will require relationship strategies. Women instinctively care about building relationships which is why they tend to gravitate toward jobs where building relationships is a major component such as Marketing or HR.
5. Increased competition will require the resources of creative thinkers to develop new products and services that meet the needs and desires of the marketplace. The talent pool of creative leaders is doubled when more women leaders are available.
6. Rapid change in technologies requires more flexibility. Women have extensive multi-tasking abilities as evidenced by women who manage business and families at the same time.
7. Half of the workers available today are women. Women in leadership roles can act as mentors to develop other potential women leaders just as executive men have done for years.
The list may go on and now the women will be the rising sun of the era. The women entrepreneurship is just one stance of women empowerment, more examples are yet to be set. So wishing all the women very best of their life, we hope to have a world that is more respecting for women.
As is rightly said, Well begun is half done.

Online Networking: Are we comfortably connected or Virtually Vulnerable?

In the today’s IT driven world every thing is getting compressed in chips and gadgets. Virtually every thing is acquiring a new dimension and definition; be it shopping online sitting in a comfortable chair at your home or pursuing MBA with the knowledge of the world at your disposal through your laptops. The very social behavior of going to clubs, communities and meetings even are now getting constricted to internet. In this article we mainly focus on the increasing effects of the networking sites like Orkut, Facebook, hi5 etc.

The networking sites now provide a free platform for the individual to form his own communities. Not only this, they also help the individual to search their friends and even form virtual groups. These sites are becoming more or less the new icons of virtual societies. Now you no more have to go to the parties or clubs to make contacts, these sites provide a huge network to catch anybody and forge a relationship. You can also control your network by allowing or blocking somebody you wish and can create an altogether a digital profile of yourself that will be seen by others in the way you want them to see. It is going really hot in this era and that’s why 61%of the 13-17 year olds have a personal profile on sites such as MySpace, Friendster, or Orkut. A study says that 14% have actually met face to face with a person they had known only through the Internet,) 30% have considered meeting someone they've only communicated with online and 71% reported receiving messages online from someone they don't know. People join the sites with their friends and use the different messaging tools to hang out, share cultural artifacts and ideas, and communicate with one another.

As per a research, 98 % of the people up to 35 years of the age use one or the other networking sites. Orkut seems to be the winning the share of hearts. Also there is 2:1 ratio of the people who use one or two networking sites at a go devoting more than 5 hours per week. Around 50% of the people says that main activities at these sites for them are either communicating with existing friends or finding old friends and making contact with them. They are also always eager to join communities on these sites of their interest. These findings clearly tells us that these site are some or the other way forming the virtual networks that is now becoming prevalent due to the busy schedules of the people and need to stay connected with their peers always. Also these are really easy to manage with ever introducing new features like yahoo avatar or site providing space to float your expressions through “My space.” when the users were asked for the negative effect of these sites only 20 % said that its however is not about negative impact but it does takes their time.

Social networking sites have some or the other sort of influence on the lifestyle of the people. While some people did not feel that it influences the lifestyle as they use these networking sites just for connecting with friends and did not feel its influence on their lifestyle. On the other hand, those who feel that it has some influence on their lifestyle had a lot to share. The responses suggest that some people have got addicted to the networking sites and use them more often and as such their life is completely influenced by these. People find it trendy to use these networking sites and being a member of the sites is considered trendy and in vogue thing. Some people surf these sites to interact with people with similar preferences and it helps in their decision-making ability. They take the views and suggestions of the people before taking any such decisions and feel quite comfortable with it. Some people get knowledge about latest trends in fashion, electronic gadgets, etc. The most staggering influence of these networking sites for some people is the use of abbreviated words liked’ for ‘the’ and likewise. They tend to use the similar words in their day to day life and even in official communication and often have suffered due to this. For students, it often comes across during exams.

Talking about what is the dark side of such sites, we could say that day and night is a part of cycle. Generally the networking sites have been of great utility to the users and they have found it of immense importance. But some people have had bad experiences from these networking sites. These bad experiences have been seen observed more by the female users than male users. The verification of genuine identity of the people is a problem. Many users have suffered from the same. People pose as someone else and tend to seek personal or confidential knowledge. This has led to breach of trust of a section of respondents. The albums are accessible to everyone and as such the pictures can be easily copied and have even been distorted in some cases and put on fake profiles. Same is the case with scrapbooks or message boxes which is visible to everyone. Information meant for one person is visible to everyone and is often harmful in relations. Some unknown people also put their comments on the scrapbooks to attract undue attention. The language is also offensive on many occasions.

The communities have even created furor over national and religious sentiments. Due to absence of any strict monitoring, communities targeted to humiliate one or the other community has mushroomed. Communities like “I hate Muslims” or “I hate Hindus” have created differences among the people and have often invited unwanted tension and rift. Some community had an Indian flag burning which shook the entire users of India and the national sentiments as a whole.

Now after having a look at both the glory and dark side of these networking sites we really need to think again that are these sites just a way to manage our network or more than that? Is it about entertainment or making our expressions public? We really need to see if we are getting social or addicted to virtual world and depending on them completely?

मेरी कहानी मेरी तस्वीरों की जुबानी ..!!!!!!!

One fine day I was just wondering that Orkut is now going so fast that its new feature of adding videos from YOU TUBE gives you a lot of freedom to express your thoughts at global level.
Then other day I saw some interesting video songs on someones Orkut profile dedicated to someone. It indicates how world is moving towards communicating your feeling or rather expressing emotions to your beloved ones .it also depicts that in this world of running behind cream performances everyone is also looking for unique ways to connect themselves with others. This made me to think how I could express myself on WWW ie. world wide web in some what different manner(though I am not so talented but in making an attempt to do some thing near to "हट के"creativity) .Then I just got one thought(inspired by my interest) of making an album in my orkut profile in away to tell about my life (not in exact way but somewhat close to my life) by adding different and interesting pictures with the tag lines if a song that describes the situation very aptly . This was then how I ended up having mu Orkut photo album full of 2 songs and amazing pics(that's how i feel about them as my one of the interest is to collect amazing and interesting pics from anywhere and every where). The songs are "तनहा दिल" sung by Shaan and "प्यार के लिए चार पल कब नही थे" from the movie "DIL KYA KARE". the one more album is not a song based but yes it does depicts a story of me or for that matter of any girl in general. I find it interesting to tell "मेरी कहानी मेरी तस्वीरों की जुबानी",although its bad to talk about ones own creation in praising way , but triust me you will like it.

One day my friend just told me that Google desktop is amazing , i should download it. I just searched on Google "GOOGLE DESKTOP DOWNLOAD" and there were about 12,900,000 of results . i downloaded the setup and then run on my Laptop. it was initially not showing much of amusement but as i discover the gadgets i could add, trust me it was mind blowing when i got the gadget in News section that enables us to watch CNN IBN LIVE 24 hours on your PC without disturbing your routine work. not even this, it has unique feature of getting settled at one side, so you can watch the latest news all the time and simultaneously do your work. believe me its great.

The Google desktop also allows you to download a number of gadgets as per your need, be it stocks, music, chat, photos, lifestyle, news, movies, Orkut, Wikipedia at one click, very interesting quotes, events, facts, jokes and lots more.
